Suzuki outboards are often the ‘go to’ power choice for many leisure anglers, competition pros and commercial charter boats.
This may be because the engines used in its range of award-winning outboard motors have always been designed specifically for the rigours of marine use, which means that all Suzuki four stroke outboards are able to provide reliable, quiet and fuel-efficient performance. From the lightweight, portable DF2.5 to the awesome power of the award-winning dual propeller DF350A, Suzuki has an outboard for every fishing adventure.
As a result, the Japanese manufacturer has been developing deeper connections with the fishing fraternity around the world. Suzuki GB’s activities are no different, and over the last few years it has created and extended its own fishing team and network of fishing friends.
Suzuki is therefore pleased to announce the expansion of its current Fishing Team, which now encompasses a wide range of specialisms and experience. The team has been carefully selected with different angling disciplines included, from pro specimen anglers, spear fishing and adventure fishing through to family fishing and complete beginners. All these anglers learn and share their knowledge with others but come together as one for relevant competitions.
Will Parkinson (AKA Smartfishing UK)
It all started with Will Parkinson, who was the first member of the Suzuki Fishing Team and is now the team Captain. Will is a professional saltwater angler and serving firefighter. Will has spent 20 years serving in the UK Fire Service, where he also uses his passion for fishing to raise awareness and funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
Will’s first boat is a 17ft Dell Quay Dory powered by a Suzuki DF90A, and his current boat is a 25ft self-commissioned Smartfish 25 powered by one of Suzuki’s DF300B dual-propeller outboards.
“My passion for fishing started when I was four years old, catching my first freshwater fish in a local river with my dad,” says Will. “I was instantly hooked. I fished freshwater until I was 12, when I made the change to saltwater angling from the shore. Now I consider myself to be a professional saltwater predator angler and specialise in Sea Bass fishing along the south coasts of the UK. I am lucky enough to represent some key marine and fishing brands. I am very grateful to the guys at Suzuki who have provided us with the perfect outboards for fishing. They are high-performing yet incredibly quiet and fuel-efficient.”

When speaking about the Suzuki Fishing Team recently, Mark Beeley, Head of ATV & Marine for Suzuki GB, said, “The Suzuki Fishing Team has grown organically over the last few months and now encompasses a really good mix of personalities, experience and types of fishing. Whether fishing independently or together as a team, they all do a great job as ambassadors for Suzuki but also for the sport of fishing and we wish them tight lines whenever they are on the water doing what they love to do.”
